How to appeal

- To appeal before the French Refugee Appeals Board enables the asylum seeker to contest the decision made by the General director of the OFPRA;
- This appeal must be written in French (state that it is an appeal).
- It has to be justified ( state the reasons for which the appeal is made– regarding a refusal to grant asylum, the reasons for which the asylum seeker has left his country of origin have to be set out).
- It has to sent by recorded delivery within one month following the Ofpra’s decision in duplicate.
- The decision of the OFPRA must be enclosed with the appeal.
- The address must be clearly indicated and any change of address must be notified by post.
- The Ofpra’s number must appear on all correspondence.
- Any additional information or document must be registered by the registry of the Commission 3 clear days before the hearing.
